Pull one open. These pieces have all passed across the counter at 225 West 23rd. Most are one of a kind and many have already found a home, so treat this as a taste of what turns up, then ask what came in this week.

A one of a kind pair by Frangos of Athens, five inches of Swarovski crystal, worn by RuPaul in the cover shoot for Andy Warhol's Interview Magazine.
That is how it goes at Eye Candy. Fashion editors, stylists, photographers and buyers from the big houses come in for inspiration, and the pieces end up on the page, on the runway and on screen.

A designer's eye, a collector's memory.
Eye Candy began in 1996 as an extension of Ron Caldwell's own contemporary jewelry line. Ron has spent decades designing jewelry and even longer collecting it, and every piece in the shop is his pick: Bakelite and rhinestones, dead stock sunglasses from the 1950s to the 1980s, hats, gloves, cufflinks, handbags and the odd collectible, sourced from France, Germany, Italy, Greece and right here in New York.
People have called the shop a treasure trove. Mostly it is a place for anyone looking for something uniquely different, and for a proper conversation about where it came from.
"WONDERFUL selection of retro, antique, and just generally cool costume jewelry, handbags, sunglasses, etc..."
From a Yelp review
Made in Japan
Dead stock, never worn. Frames from the 1950s with their original "Made in Japan" sticker still inside the arm, thick resin, glass lenses, optical quality so your own prescription can go in.
Under the red awning.
