Routes

Stay a day, or let it keep you.

    Plan your visit

    Before you cross the bridge.

    Getting here

Around two hours by train from Sarajevo through the Neretva canyon, and roughly two and a half hours by road from Dubrovnik.

    Best time

Spring and autumn are ideal. July and August are busy and regularly climb above 35°C, so start early and rest at midday.

    Money

The currency is the convertible mark (BAM). Cards work in most places, but carry some cash for the bazaar and small cafés.

    Local rhythm

Coffee is slow and served in a džezva. Order it by the river and let the afternoon take as long as it needs.
